About this edition

Here are the lyric poems of the young W. B. Yeats, drawn from his three early collections: Crossways (1889), the songs of his Sligo boyhood and of Celtic myth; The Rose (1893), where love, Ireland, and the eternal Rose of Beauty are woven into one; and The Wind Among the Reeds (1899), the shadowy, music-haunted summit of his early style. Within them: “The Stolen Child,” “The Lake Isle of Innisfree,” “The Song of Wandering Aengus,” “When You Are Old,” “Down by the Salley Gardens,” and “Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven”, some of the most musical verse in the language.
