Trace Press publishes two lines. Here is the quickest way to find your door in.
If you want the trilogy
Start with One Crowned, then Two Daughters of Ash, then Three Queens. Read in order; the trilogy is one continuous argument and the third book depends on the first two. Full guide here.
If you want one book, complete in itself
The standalones share the trilogy's world and its rules, and can be read in any order, first or last.
- Ireland, 1895. The Grey Horse — the shortest of them, and the one to start with if you want to know quickly whether this is for you. The history behind it.
- The Mayo coast, 1530–1603. Íarraith — Gráinne Ní Mháille and a debt owed to the sea. The history behind it.
- York, 1586. Standing Mute — Margaret Clitherow, and a confessor who waits a year for a ghost that never comes.
- Derbyshire, 1544–1608. More Glass Than Wall — Bess of Hardwick, six houses, and sixty-four years of not telling anyone why.
- England, the 1580s. The Forty-Eighth Key — John Dee, the angelic language, and the price per word.
- Scotland, 1590. The Devil's Ledger — the North Berwick trials. Not yet released.
